Housekeeping or Spring Cleaning?

tambellini.jpgOk. Players go. Management goes. I understand this.

But when said individual goes from potential general manager replacement status in an organization to interdivision rival’s new general manager….it puckers my backside.

When Eric Mangini went from being Bill Belichicks right hand spy to new head coach of AFC East division rival New York Jets, Mangini effigy’s were burned in the streets and being a Jets fan within 5 blocks of a Patriots fan put your well-being at risk.

The utter destruction of the franchise is always has the sweetest taste to it regardless of the disparity between the teams.

This is hate.

Steve Tambellini on the other hand, is sent off to the enemy with as much fan-fare as a pageant queen. All this,  “he was awesome and loyal and really good and crap.”

What? What?

If this guys so awesome (and he was, he’s also had a hand in most facets of management…and has been with the club since he played there…in the 80’s!) why the eff do we let him go…let alone to a straight up rival?

I don’t know. What I do know is that dozens of teams came after this guy, and we let him go…in favor of a guy with zero GM experience and only interaction with the franchise has been on the other side of the bargaining table. Tams has patiently waited for the opportunity to run his own, and instead of rewarding him for his loyalty with the job he’s worked his cojones off to get, we send him to the Edmonton Effing Oilers…this has all the makings of working out reeeeeally well for us. I can feel it.
